DVA Cleaning Melbourne

A DVA cleaner is a professional house cleaner whose work is funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs on behalf of an eligible veteran. The veteran is approved for a set number of hours under either the Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) programme or DVA Household Services. The cleaner provides regular domestic assistance and the provider invoices DVA or the VHC agency directly so the veteran doesn’t pay out of pocket.

Yes. DVA funds house cleaning under two programmes: Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) for veterans needing lower-intensity support to stay independent at home, and DVA Household Services for veterans whose accepted service-related condition prevents them from doing housework. Both programmes fund cleaning at the published 2026 rate of $79.90/hr inc GST. Excel Cleaning works with veterans across Melbourne under both programmes.

You may be eligible if you hold a DVA Gold Card or an accepted White Card and one of the following applies: (a) you’ve been assessed as needing in-home support to live independently (VHC pathway), or (b) you have an accepted service-related condition that prevents you from managing housework, assessed under MRCA or DRCA (Household Services pathway).
